In a strategic move to bolster Indonesia’s fiscal administration, Finance Minister Suahasil Nazara has delineated the core responsibilities among three deputy finance ministers. This allocation is aimed at enhancing focus and improving coordination across various sectors of the country’s financial management. The deputies, while having distinct areas of oversight, will collaborate on the overall fiscal management and state budget.
Deputy Finance Minister Juda Agung will focus on the financial sector, international affairs, and financing. Meanwhile, Nurkholisoh Ibnu Aman is tasked with overseeing state revenue, which includes taxes, customs, excise duties, and non-tax revenue. Luky Alfirman, another deputy, will manage state expenditure, treasury operations, and transfers to regional governments. This strategic division of labor is designed to refine focus without isolating the deputies from collective oversight.
This change comes under the framework of Presidential Decree No. 104P of 2026, appointing Alfirman and Nurkholisoh to join Agung in their support of the finance minister. Alfirman brings experience from his senior role within the Finance Ministry, while Nurkholisoh has a background as an economist and researcher at Bank Indonesia. Together with Nazara, they will continue to manage the ministry’s overall operations, including organizational matters, human resources, and budgetary concerns.
Further highlighting the ministry’s fiscal accomplishments, Nazara noted that Indonesia’s state revenue reached approximately 2,341.5 trillion rupiah by the end of September 2026, marking a significant 25.5% increase compared to the same period last year. This revenue accounts for 74.2% of the government’s annual target, underscoring effective fiscal management strategies.
The newly assigned responsibilities aim to reinforce fiscal governance as Indonesia navigates the complexities of revenue collection, public spending, and regional funding. By clearly defining roles while maintaining a collaborative approach, the Finance Ministry seeks to enhance its efficiency and responsiveness to economic challenges.
