Indonesia is gearing up to showcase its industrial potential on the global stage as the Official Partner Country at INNOPROM 2026, set to take place from July 6 to 9 in Yekaterinburg, Russia. With a focus on drawing in investment, fostering technology partnerships, and enhancing industrial cooperation, Indonesia aims to connect with businesses across the Eurasian region. The event will see Indonesian companies and government officials highlighting opportunities tied to the nation’s evolving industrial strategy, which is guided by the New National Industrialization Strategy (SBIN). This framework is designed to bolster a competitive and sustainable manufacturing sector in response to digitalization, energy transitions, and shifting global supply chains, aligning with Indonesia’s broader Golden Indonesia 2045 development objectives.
At the heart of this strategy is the intention to invite international partners to engage through investment, technology transfer, and the development of industrial capacities, as explained by Minister of Industry Agus Gumiwang Kartasasmita. SBIN’s key areas include enhancing value-added production from natural resources, advancing industrial technology under the Making Indonesia 4.0 roadmap, promoting green industrialization, and strengthening human resources in the industry. The industrial exhibition will serve as a platform for more than 50 Indonesian companies to explore potential collaborations with Eurasian counterparts, particularly in the fields of machinery, automation, petrochemicals, and advanced materials.
Indonesia is also looking to attract investment in its industrial parks and encourage participation in downstream processing and supply chain development. Special attention is directed towards strategic minerals like nickel, bauxite, copper, cobalt, and lithium, where partnerships in technology and investment are sought to support the country’s downstream industrial growth. The agricultural and food-processing sectors provide further opportunities for collaboration, with the AGRO pavilion set to display potential ventures involving food-processing technologies, logistics, distribution, and access to regional markets.
Boasting one of Southeast Asia’s largest manufacturing bases, Indonesia is positioned as a significant player in the global industrial landscape. The Ministry of Industry reports that the country’s manufacturing value added has reached around $265 billion, ranking it 13th worldwide. Non-oil and gas manufacturing exports stood at $147.9 billion as of August 2025, constituting nearly 80% of Indonesia’s total exports. As Director General of Industrial Resilience, Regional Development, and International Industrial Access Tri Supondy indicates, Indonesia’s participation in INNOPROM is a strategic move to reinforce its role as a reliable industrial partner for Eurasian economies.
The exhibition is anticipated to facilitate discussions on investment projects, technology transfers, and supply-chain partnerships between Indonesian and Eurasian companies across various manufacturing sectors. By doing so, Indonesia hopes to solidify its industrial presence and foster long-lasting economic ties with Eurasian regions, leveraging its robust manufacturing base and strategic initiatives to attract international collaboration and innovation.
