In a bid to bolster security and enhance public services, Malaysia’s Home Ministry has unveiled a comprehensive plan for several development projects in the state of Johor. These initiatives aim to fortify security infrastructure and improve the efficiency of operations across various agencies, including the police, immigration, national registration, prisons, the anti-drug agency, and maritime enforcement.
A key component of this ambitious plan is the construction of the Segamat district police headquarters. Additionally, the ministry will pursue land acquisition for the development of a new police headquarters in Pengerang. These measures are intended to reinforce law enforcement capabilities in the region, ensuring a more robust security presence.
The initiatives also focus on enhancing border security, with significant upgrades planned for immigration facilities at major checkpoints. This move is aimed at streamlining processes and improving service delivery at these critical entry points. Furthermore, a new office for the National Registration Department is set to be established in Batu Pahat, facilitating better access to essential public services for residents.
In line with improving correctional and rehabilitation facilities, the ministry has planned enhancements to prison facilities and the redevelopment of anti-drug treatment centers. These efforts are designed to address the needs of the prison system and provide more effective rehabilitation services for individuals struggling with addiction.
Additionally, the Abu Bakar Maritime Base will undergo significant upgrades, elevating the readiness and capabilities of maritime enforcement in the region. By focusing on these strategic projects, the ministry aims to not only enhance security and public services but also support Johor’s long-term development goals, contributing to the overall growth and stability of the area.
